“Challenging Gender Stereotypes in Ballet” via My Son Can Dance

by David on January 28, 2010

I wanted to share this great post that Catherine L. Tully of 4dancers.org wrote about gender stereotypes in ballet (you may remember when she interviewed me here). The post is over on the My Son Can Dance Blog (I’ve mentioned this blog on BalletForMen.com).

The article is great, and I think one of my favorite aspects about it is the recognition that men and women can work together to confront gender stereotypes in ballet and make dance a whole lot more enjoyable for all of us.

If you are interested in reading more about gender and ballet, take a look at one of my earlier posts as well, “Can Boys Dance? The male dancer stigma of men’s ballet”
