Ballet Apparel for Men – Free e-Book
I’m excited to present a finished project that I’ve been working on for a little while now. I’ve compiled all the information a beginner needs to know about the confusing topic of men’s ballet apparel, and put it into this e-book. I’ve included a bunch of illustrations as well.
Topics include:
- When and why you need to wear tights
- How to clean and maintain each piece of apparel
- How to sew and prepare your ballet shoes
- What a dance belt is
- What the typical dress code is for ballet class
- What pointe shoes are and what you need to know about them
- Plus much more!
Another great thing about this e-Book, is that it is totally free to download AND distribute. You have permission to give this to your friends, or provide it to your own readers. One of the best ways I think we can get guys to dance, is to take away all of the confusion about the attire and getting started. That is what I aim to do with this book.
This book is also a great resource for beginner ballet classes and studios. I encourage teachers and studio owners to print copies or sections of this book to have available for new male dancers. You will no longer have to have the awkward dance belt conversation. (A print version of this book will be available soon for retail and discounted educational pricing).

Tights and Tiaras: Free e-book
A trick I use for buying tights is usually going to a teen-style clothing store and finding the leggings section. I’ve found that if you purchase the leggings that are worn with oversized shirts and mini-skirts (you can just ask a store clerk) they’re more than thick enough, comfortable too. I really like doing this when I wanna spice up class or I have an impromptu performance. FURTHERMORE, they are usually on sale. Rue21 stores have great ones that I’ve found on sale several times for 5 dollars!
Thank you for your book and websites. My son is 14 and has been taking Ballet for four years. He really enjoys dance. He takes tap and modern dance too.
You are so correct when you mention that smaller stores will try to sell you women’s tights as men’s. They are completely unhelpful when it comes to dressing my son for class.
I look forward to sharing this site with my son.
Thanks again.
Wow, could you advise some more books? I liked this one
