Hey man kool blog. will there be new episodes for the podcast ? I am new to the site and happy I found this. I started wanting to take classes after I heard from this site. And also episode 3 doesnt work and I wished to hear it cuz it talks about dance in college and I feel I could relate to that situation but the audio is incomplete ky80@hotmail.com

I’m 18 and I just started dancing late Feb 2011 and am now pursuing a career in dance. Here’s my story. I had posted something on facebook talking about how I had just seen the black swan and I was talking about how I always thought that was cool and wished I had gotten into dance. Well I had a friend who told me I should contact this local ballet school and ask about taking classes. Not thinking it would really lead to anything I contacted the director. She gave me two free weeks of classes to see if I’d like to join. After my two weeks were up she ended up saying to me I had a lot of promise and could see potential in me so she went ahead and offered me a fully paid scholarship to dance there. I’ve only danced for 8 months and have already been caste in four different main male roles in two different recitals (sleeping beauty and the Nutcracker). I’ve never been happier in my life than when I started dancing. I thought 18 would be too late but it couldn’t have come at a better time in my life. I’ve never driven myself this hard for anything in my life. I really want to be a dancer in a big ballet company one day and I believe I’m on way to achieving just that. It’s never too late to do what you love.

Hey! Love your site. It has been a great help in helping one of my dancers continue. However, I have just moved him into my pointe class for th enext semester. I am having a hard time finding shoes for him. Cn anyone point me in the right direction?? (Pun not intended)

When I was younger my mom always though I should take ballet lessons and I was skeptical and now I look back I wish I done it.
Now I am middle age is it too late. not to be a pro dancer.but for fun.

Great blog. There are many dance sites but very few focus on the male dancer. And the more encouragement for men to dance, the better. My very best wishes for continuing success with BalletForMen.

Thanks for this website. It’s inspired me to take my love of watching ballet to actually learning it in the New Year. I’m 43 and your podcast gave me the impetus to just get out and do it. I really love this web site. I live in Rome and I am 43 and 3 months ago I started to do ballet classes here..I’ve always wanted to do it since I was 10..and my biggest regret is I didn’t get into ballet at that age as I’ve felt in love with it..Anyway your site is fantastic and a great inspiration for me. I have a look at it almost every day..I really like because it’s an inexhaustible source for boys&men who do an like the ballet both beginners and professionals . I feel the same way as all of these gentlemen,I started at 48 yrs old,and am now in my second year,have added tap and modern,but ballet is my favorite.I’ve always wanted to dance,but of coarse was rise when only sissy dance.Obviously that was said by someone who never tried ballet.Anyway,keep up the great you all!
